Demo Night with the RES-Q-JACK

Monday night drill - The new Res-Q-Jacks came in. Kevin from Firematic Supply did a demo on how the jacks work. As you can see the Asst Chief's hard at work...

The jacks on a rolled over station wagon. The roof of the car is off the ground so we can cut the roof off. The Chief always has to be on top of things

The Res-Q-Jacks are part of the rescue grant from Homeland Security.

Looking good on Memorial Day

Me and Maxim, the fire house pup, looking as good as we can on Memorial Day. We are in front of the make of fire truck that Maxim got his name from. The city of Willimantic has two of these trucks still, an engine and a ladder truck. The ladder is the truck that I'm in front of, and the one below is Engine 301.

House Fire on Summit St

Willimantic Fire Department started North Windham Fire Dept to the scene of a 2 1/2 story Victorian House fire in the Hill section of Willimantic. Engine 102 hit a hydrant one block over and laid a 5'' line to ET 102 at the house. The ET fed a 1 3/4" line and a 2 1/2" that we stretched to the rear of the house. North Windham Fire Dept worked to get the back under control. The residents have just started to rebuild their home in May.

Looking fine!

How about these fine looking officers. This was after the Memorial Day Parade back at the Fire House. This was our first time wearing our new Class A Uniforms. I guess you can clean us up!

jackson st fire with dog inside

A single family house fire on Jackson Street in Willimantic with a dog inside the house. The Fire Dept got the dog out and used the new dog masks for the first time and brought the dog back to life. The kids from the Windham Schools got the dog masks for all the Windham Fire Depts.
